Maid attempts suicide with employer's baby
An Indonesian maid attempted to commit suicide with her employer’s five-month-old baby girl. China Press reported that the maid, Siti, 21, became depressed after her daughter died two years ago. The suicide attempt took place several days ago.
Her employer, Azlinda, 37, realised something was wrong when she heard Siti mumbling and crying to herself. The daily reported that the maid was about to jump from the sixth floor apartment unit when Azlinda barged in and pulled her back in the nick of time.
Siti then rushed to her employer’s room and grabbed the sleeping baby and tried to jump again. Azlinda took more than 30 minutes to persuade the maid not to jump. The employer later lodged a police report.
