thailand has many old mbts, so msia decided to get some. they got abt 50 twardys (there was a sale of surplus leopards but msia said they were overweight). so sg got abt 100 leopards. indon did want to be left behind so they have got leopards too...

mudland is just being kind to SG,besides beating us at soccer,the m&ds did not want to rub our nose in the dirt by giving us a military trashing too.....if it was up to me i would mobilise the entire malaysian artillery forces and legions of katyusha to give SG a show of supreme firepower off the western coast of malaysia.

SGP's arms are nothing more than fancy toys,capable of projecting force and fancy explosions.....but not enough to withstand the tides of allah's forces......ISIS is proof that it is easy to rile up the malaysian army into a terrifying force under the call of islam.

Without a boogyman (or men), SAF's right to existence and the huge expenditure that follows it would never be justified. Even still, the expensive toys and the much vaunted SAF's capabilities might be put to the test in the next decades or so when a seceding minded Sultan is put on a throne at Istana Bukit Serene.

Yes, this is true. To this day, no one in the SAF, I have asked personally all the way up to the Chief Infantry Officer, can tell me who our enemy is, and what is their motivation to attack us and how they can succeed. I mean, if you ask SOuth Korea who is their enemy, they wil tell you immediately its North Korea. If you ask Taiwan who their enemy is, they will say its China. If you ask Israel, they will tell you its Iran or other neighbouring states. A country, when asked, will tell you who is their enemy. No one in the SAF can say this.

Nothing to do with Thailand. More so to do with zikapore. At that time, we had the KP in 2 places. One was in Hukou in Taiwan, and the other was in underground storage sheds in Singapore. As long as the KPs were not paraded during NDP and kept as secret, the Malaysians let it pass. Eventually, they realized the number that we had and the upgrades that we have on them. They had nothing that could even remotely stop the KP. Their assumption was that generally their Scorpions will take on our AMX-13, so light tank versus light tank is ok. But the KP versus the Scorpion is no win for them. They had to get something that can match the KP, and at that time, the Poles were willing to offset the price of the tanks with palm oil.

we got the 100 Leo 2 because of corruption and incompetence. ST Engineering was supposed to develop the Bionix into a whole family of armour vehicles including a light tank. But because they fucked up so badly, a large enough gun turret could not be shoe horned into the hull. at the same time, some german named diesenroth was sucking up to many ST Lancheows and pursuaded them to get the 65 ton Leo 2 and bring it to zikapore to upgraded with his own company's MEXAS armour. So, we have what we have today.

zikapore really hopeless...other countries can fit a 120mm low recoil into a ifv but not zikapore.

NSF enemies are SAF. Malaysia don't bother Singapore army size. Cut off water and block Malacca Straits is enough Sinkies kpkb thristy and no food to eat.
