Made in China Phones at Sim Lim Square

For some the handphone one carries is a status symbol. They don't care so much about the features of the iPhone but the fact that it is expensive to own one.

I won't be surprised when Vertu start using iPhones as a basis for their expensive phones. You have both a cool AND expensive phone :D

For those who are looking at phones with radio, TV, etc , etc Do consider that the primary reason for a phone is to make/receive calls. All those features require power. What do you do when you're battery is dead:confused:

I'm using one now. Except for the camera which is really fark up, I'm quite happy with the other functions. It has been more than a year since I bought it and it has not given me any problems so far. Cost me only $150. Dropped a few times and kena rainwater, but it is still working as good as ever!

Surprisingly PRCs dun like their own brand and buy it only for the price. I'm the only one in my China office using a China phone. Even my clerk who earns CNY4000 a month owns a CNY4500 Iphone.
They say China brands not reliable but I find that its just as good (or even better) than the big brands in terms of basic functions and their battery is much better than those Korean brands.

There was once I saw 2 primary school kids playing with their handphones and they were more expensive than mine.
Another time, I saw a beggar looking at his handphone and it was also more expensive than mine.
Oh well. :)

Their parents probably own basic phones.

These same parents want to give their kids the best toys because they feel guilty about not being there.

As for the beggar, the phone is probably his most most prized possession. He might never be able to own a Mercs or Rolex, but everyone can afford a handphone :)

ha...lol...your reasoning is damn "tok kong", true that parents want to give the best for their kids and everybody can afford a cell phone.:D

I forgot to mention that the beggar had a white stick beside him, but when he saw that nobody was looking, he took a peek at the SMS on his handphone. :(
