The insignificant nobody me salute to George Lucus. It was thru his awesome movie Star Wars that captivated audiences young & old throughout the world, of a possibly realistic future for Humanity that was far beyond anyone could imagine, & his GREAT team that made it possible.
He did tried, as a producer, to provide BALANCED views between good & evil thru the numerous franchises of the Star Wars movies, aided by scholars to portrayed as real as possible the environments & motivations of even individuals characters portrayed, even in video game franchises. He & at least his loyal teams did made profits & sustainable life for themselves & even for their own generations, thru such efforts that none can deny them of, & thru its ILM team, inspired & evolved far further than any Human could in the field of digital technologies...
Unfortunately, with ILM technologies achieved, it inspired even others, in low labor cost China & other nations, to do the same & earn even bigger profits with its huge citizen market alone than ILM could even imagine, used as propaganda at times. Worse still, with generative AI tech, even a mere 13 yr old school boy fan can do the same & even better now with the tech available...
Unfortunately, ILM team & its CEO chose to fall to the ground, surrender, than to stand up & fight back. There is still SO MUCH in tech evolution than they realized,..
For those Singaporeans working in Lucasfilm, may they not be despondent. It is NOT the end, but the BEGINNING of their careers in the digital imagery fields. Their training & experiences in such fields WILL be needed by better funded others from the competitive World - in media, cinema & even schools, etc.
Ultimately, imagery is a power, to influence others, & it is hoped that with what they had learnt, will only make use of it for the betterment of Humanity as George Lucas tried, than to be swayed by the dark side for personal profit at the expense of trusting others whom may have diabolical ambitions...
