LTK's habits have absolutely nothing to do with polling results and his ability as an mp and to operate a town council.
Just like Steve Chia's hobbies have absolutely nothing to do with his polling results, his ability as an mp and his performance in parliament.
I'll take the opportunity to answer Silverfox's question here whether I will let my wife or daughter associate with him. How is that at all relevant? There is no answer to this question, in fact, the question should not even be asked.

Actually, some PAP MPs smoke and drink too, but only in private, never in public with public. That's the difference. The habits are there, in the persons concerned personally. In public, the differences between flamboyance and discipline, restraint and hypocrisy is up to the public to be jury.

It's as irrelevant as someone in the forum saying "Would you let your sons and daughters be around Silverfox? He likes to go to Casino you know?"

Silverfox is a forummer who posts some interesting things in sammyboy's coffeeshop forum. Why in the world would this question even arise? It's not as if Silverfox is a tutor or a nanny, or at least I don't think you are.

That's why I am not in politics. People will scrutinise you and expect you to be cleaner than a piece of white paper.

Certain occupations belong to this category. Politicians, famous people, Media people (actors, actresses)

I don't serve the people, so generally people don't really bother with what I do:p

I've had girlfriends who on first date, frowned upon seeing me lighting up ciggie and ordering beer, saying she didn't like smokers and drinkers... ... ...thought that first date would be the last date until... ... ...fast forward... ... ...after having sex with her, I got of of bed, lighted up a ciggie and went to the fridge to pop a can of beer. She just said darling, don't smoke too much and drink too much OK, brush your teeth after you're done and come back to hug me.

Eric Low has a thick skin. Rejected at the polls but walking around as the people's representative. A disgrace.

More importantly, at least he had the COURAGE to challenge LTK, a then 2-term MP when all his counterparts had the coattails of LKY, GCT, LHL, Tony Tan and LBH to ride on.
