Two schools on alert
Jun 10, 2010

By Carolyn Quek

TWO international schools have sent alerts to parents following at least two reports of strangers here approaching young children and trying to coax the youngsters into following them.

The Tanglin Trust School sent out an e-mail message to parents on Monday, and the United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) followed with one the next day, after parents had asked about the incident involving a Tanglin pupil.

Tanglin Trust's director of education David Clegg confirmed that an encounter had happened involving a boy in its infant school, which is for children aged three to seven.

The police also confirmed that a report was lodged last week and that they are investigating the matter.

The incident was first publicised by the six-year-old's mother, who sent an e-mail message to warn other parents. It then circulated on forums for expatriate families.

In her e-mail, she said that her son, a Briton, was at a taxi stand at Turf City with the family's maid when they were approached by a young woman.

Organ harvester , sex trade ,kidnapping, child adoption , serial murderer . Your pick !

ur title is very irrelevant n misleading ...

If you do look this way . I guess the title must be capitivating .

It's a start to pay attention to details .

Like how they will operate .

I hope you are not a Malaysian who feels offended and mislead .

No kidnap attempt: Police
Mon, Jun 14, 2010
The Straits Times

THE police have assured the public that a reported kidnap attempt
of a child, that has been making the rounds in the expatriate
community here, was not true.

While a police report was made by the child's mother about the
incident at the Turf City earlier this month, a police spokesman
said last night that they now believe the case to be
one of 'mistaken identity'.

'Police confirm that investigations thus far have shown the
recent allegation of a female subject attempting to abduct
children at Turf City to be unsubstantiated,' said police
spokesman Yvonne Edwin. 'The police would like to assure
the public that there is no established cause for concern.'

She added that the police are still trying to locate the
female subject to 'shed more light on the subject'.

if not substantiated why locate the female subject le?

kidnappers no worry, if you smarter than limpy MSK you will not get caught,,,,

Its a fact that the mother did make a report of someone attempts to lure her kid away. Yet the kayu police, just because they are unable to locate the other party to verify the information, they labeled it as a case of mistaken identity. What you expect a kidnapper to do after a failed attempt, stick around to be interviewed?

Cannot be kidnapper because the kids so big or grow up. They know who thier parent. Not so easy.
Kidnapping is a death sentence in Singapore.
If want better do it in Malaysia.

They are always soooooo afraid of social unrest, especially among the rich and elite.
Hahahahaha!

This is an issue with students of international and not national schools and so local concern should take a back seat.

Many nowday teenager just run away from their parent then kena scold/hit at home. It has become norm just SPH/Mediacock not making it as headline.
About 30% teenager age before 18 have run away from home at least once. In coming year the stat will increse to more than 50%.
Just ask around teenager how many of their friends have run away from home?

This is an issue with students of international and not national schools and so local concern should take a back seat.

Wong Kan Seng : Even though I am Minister of home affairs.
This is not my affair . It should be K Shanmugam for enacting lax laws .

K Shanmugam : No no it's not under my control, it should be Mr Gan Kim Yong for manpower . we have not enough men to do the necessary patrol .

Mr GAN Kim Yong : Are you mad K Shanmugam, you drag me into this you should at least got Prof S. JAYAKUMAR in Co-ordinating Minister for National Security in to answer all these for letting in all the foreigners that created all these crimes .

Prof S. JAYAKUMAR : I am stumped . Please refer to Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports Dr Vivian BALAKRISHNAN.

Dr Vivian BALAKRISHNAN : I cannot say it's acceptable but it's our children that need nurture . You know children these days lack the parental care that our generation has . Parents working long hours and come home late. Birds not feed, cats not feed and dogs don't get their walks .
This lack of nurturing is cause by poor health .
You will need to get Minister for Health
Mr KHAW Boon Wan to answer for it.

Mr KHAW Boon Wan : Sorry next week I have my operation appointment . Anything else. haha .bye bye

K Shanmugam :
It's not that we want to let them into Singapore it's under the request of Minister for Trade and Industry , Mr LIM Hng Kiang .

Mr Lim Hng Kiang : Sorry we only lease and record input and output figures . This was in review by Minister for National Development, Mr MAH Bow Tan who wanting long term viable and cheap labour for many industries .

Mr MAH Bow Tan : You are mad, we plan no doubt . Even though we are paid millions we don't plan so far . The guy you looking for is Minister for Finance Mr Tharman SHANMUGARATNAM . He was for cheap labour due to request from private companies .

Mr Tharman SHANMUGARATNAM : Can't help it . Private companies requested that cheap labour be brought in because they can keep costs down and profit high . Look at out tax collection report . It has being doing down down down . The one you should call to answer is Mr LIM Swee Say who begin to go cheap campaign before the permission to go ahead was given .

All agreed that Mr Lim Swee Say is not to be touch even though Cheaper faster and better MTV was produced . Which cheapen the view of all local labour .

It was then decided it was the fault of Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yong-Boon YEO who is in-charge of affairs of the foreign . Since Mr George Yeo was Foreign Affair, he was not to be found . But was found later somewhere in France learning French cooking .

So unanimously, it was suggested by Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and
Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Dr YAACOB Ibrahim as a 1 in 50 years thing .
