Recently the Iskandar Chief announced plans for Nusajaya WEST which is supposed to be opposite the highway from East Ledang side. I think the land owners in Gelang Patah will benefit most. If they hold the land for another 10-20 years, most if not all will be sudden millionaire.

West side will diversify resources too much. Focus for next 5-10 years shd b zone A n B.

Patah mean break/broken.. mean Broken Bangle (wat a name)

There are different version of the story.. the myth i remembered was, once there was this woman from rich and affluent family, she was on a boat crusing on the river.. a crocodile appeared and bit her where only bit off her bangle which was broken... (lame story)

True fact is Gelang Patah has a long connection with cousin of LKY.. yup u hear it right.. Lee Kuan Quan was the guy who actually a well known figure in Chinese society in Gelang Patah. He had a big rubber plantation very long ago who helped to build the Chinese primary school that's y the old hall of the chinese primary school in Gelang Patah named Kuan Quan Hall.. named after him..

And the old building (pre 2nd world war) shop lots at Gelang Patah old town are old belonged to his family... some history of this small town.

Gelang Patah is becoming more and more crowded nowsadays. More factories are coming up around that area as in SILC. So in your view what is the potential for all those residential houses there. As for the shops, there has been good appreciation due to more crowds and more businesses.

The old bungalow on 5,000 sf land there in the as-is condition by the developer clearing the stock was only 300k 2 years back. Do you think those houses there will see good appreciation when Iskandar takes off?

If the government is smart they can make a fortune too: with fees and taxes on the casinos, plus taxes on hotel rooms and the crazy money some of the gamblers spend on conspicuous consumption. If you were limited to gamblers from your country I think it is a net loss. If you attract lots of people from other countries (which Singapore does) you get to siphon off their money into your country. And with that you can afford to spend a great deal dealing with some of the social problems caused and still make a great profit for the country.

I don't think it is the most honorable business. I think too many people are harmed. Plenty of people can just do it for fun (and they can afford their losses), I don't mind that. But lots of people lose what they can't afford to lose. Still, if you are paying most attention to the benefits to your country alone then casinos like those in Singapore can be very rewarding for the country. And money you make this way lets you avoid raising taxes (you take from the profits due to those willing to part with their money).

ppl here live in a very very humble way last time..

However, i guess u already know Gelang Patah nice seafood.. my brother likes Tian Lai, sayinig they got best crabs so far..

If you want nice seafood, i can recommend one good place, restaurant menu, very reasonable price.. called the Duck Majesty (Ya Huang) at Taman Sentosa.. jus opposite the Bamboo Chicken in Taman sentosa.
Fresh seafood and very nice Chinese cuizine.

No need millionaire ministers, any govt also know casino is easy money but it comes at a social cost to the country. Shouldnt be called rewarding but ill gotten gains at the expense of others, whose lives are destroyed by the easy accessibilty of the casinos.

Have ever considering buying a property near to these 2 casinos but to me personally, after some serious thoughts, is not worth it even if guarantee appreciate more than other locations.

I think stay in condo at least we dun need to bother about security and safety, so we can sleep peacefully and leave the job to the guards and all the CCTVs to them.....

On contrary, i am scare to live in landed unless it has many tiers security.... If not I can't sleep.
