LionsXII crowned 2013 Malaysian Super League champions with 4-0 win over Felda

After having a goal disallowed in a goal-less first half, the LionsXII got a dream start to the second half, with three goals finding the net within 15 minutes.

Get the full story from The Straits Times.

Here are some highlights from the live blogging by The Straits Times at the Jalan Besar Stadium for the Malaysian Super League game between the LionsXII and Felda United:

The first half was somewhat underwhelming for the LionsXII.

It's goal-less at half time here at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

AND IT'S A GOAL FOR THE LIONSXII!!

Shahril Ishak's inswinging free-kick is headed past his own goalkeeper by Felda United's Azrul Ahmad.

A Mexican wave goes around the Jalan Besar Stadium.

The LionsXII are forced into their first change of the evening, with Madhu Mohana coming on for Faritz Abdul Hameed, who has been struggling since the first half and is stretchered off.

Get the champagne out.

It's 2-0 to the LionsXII after 58 minutes, as captain Shahril Ishak slams the ball home after Faris Ramli's cross is missed by a Felda United defender.

It's a party now. Fazrul Nawaz taps in from close range after Shahril Ishak scuffs his shot into the ground.

3-0 to the LionsXII and they are romping to the Malaysian Super League title.

And now it's four.

Shahril Ishak's through-ball finds Shahfiq Ghani, who coolly rolls it past Rozaimie Rohim in the Felda United goal.

Up in the stands, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong sports a huge smile on his face as he proudly displays a red scarf.

Three minutes of time added at the end of the 90. Three minutes, before the LionsXII can celebrate their Malaysian Super League success.

THAT'S IT!! Referee Samsudin Ibrahim blows the final whistle at the Jalan Besar Stadium!

The LionsXII - Singapore's LionsXII - are Malaysian Super League champions for 2013!!

It is a quite remarkable achievement for a team put together to prepare for December's SEA Games in Myanmar. With 25 players aged 23 or below, the LionsXII have conquered the Malaysian league.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong hands LionsXII captain Shahril Ishak the Malaysian Super League trophy as a burst of gold and silver confetti envelopes the team, amid strains of Queen’s We Are The Champions.

And champions they are.

No FTs, and most players are under-23.

Finally,Singapore won a trophy without any foreign talent.Abbas saad said the present team can't fight with the team he was in 1994.But,at least this is a all Singaporean team. This team dun have any players haul up by CPIB too.Congrats to the Lions.

I think this Super League is different from Malaysia Cup which we used to win. So Lions, come back with the Malaysia Cup then talk yourselves as equal to the Singapore teams of yore.

With this win... Can we question FAS why must die die employ a FT coach for the national team!

Without this man's attendance, the results may have been different :D just kidding. Congrats again
