<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I WRITE to express my disappointment at the frequent breakdowns of the upgraded lift at Block 165, Simei Road. I fully supported the upgrading programme, as I thought it would enhance my lifestyle. I was excited and looked forward to early completion of the upgrading work.
During the construction period, I endured the endless noise, dust and inconvenience as I knew that once the work was completed, I would benefit from this programme as the lift would stop at my floor. I saw this as an added convenience that would improve mobility.
The upgraded lift was put to use at the end of September last year. However, I was shocked when it broke down after barely a week. More breakdowns were encountered subsequently, with the most recent on Valentine's Day.
That day, my hands were full with groceries and - alas - what greeted me was an electronic sign indicating that the lift was under maintenance. I was very frustrated.
The numerous breakdowns have greatly inconvenienced me, prompting me to write to the authorities in the hope that they can fix the problem.
Ironically, we rarely encountered breakdowns with the old lifts. Ho Mea Mee (Ms)
