The cell size and individual toilet facility for 1 prisoner here in Changi can actually house 1 family in Hong Kong now .... complain it small and simple for a prisoner cell, the weedio commentor want prisoners be housed in 5-star hotel with swimming pools and tennis court with Taxpayers money?

GCB type of prisons are only reserved for convicted PAP ministers like Iswaran.

I heard about ex-convicts who committed suicide following their release because the outside world became a scary and unfamiliar place after decades behind bars. They long for the safety and security of life in prison where all their needs were catered for; they had a roof over their heads and 3 meals a day, which are not guaranteed in the real world.

Yes sad but true. Compared to outside some are homeless can’t even get a shower or place to sleep no secure 3 meals and medical care. Inside prison get all for free. Also got company. Some prefer inside too as outside they get hounded by loansharks and whatnot.

Perhaps the Malays inmates can apply to be cellmates with Iswaran at his GCB. Their yard time will include swimming in his pool and working out at his gym.

not true. they do hv time for games/socialising and books too. those who wish to pursue their studies are also allowed to. the only downside is the uncomfortable living conditions - a thin straw mat and thin blanket plus having to sleep next to the toilet area

It is. But what to do? Here subscribed to harsh condition. Then if ask for better environment, the party will say taxpayers need to top up...Blah. totally not able to improve keeping budget or trim wastages.

Israel prisoners, are tortured and raped and killed. And you end up in prison with no charges. Even if you are a kid.
They just arrest you in the streets if they feel like it. And lock you up for decades. In the case of the now departed Yahya Sinwar, 22 years.
