Taking kids from asylum seekers with the intention of NOT returning them to their parents.
Keeping the children in cages & tent cities.
Using divisive language & scare mongering which pits different groups among US society e.g. encourage the guy who sent out mail bombs.
Taking unilateral action to start trade wars without considering the end goal
Blanket ban on some muslims & not from other muslim countries.
Non-white Americans returning to the US are treated as illegals & must show proof of their status.

But these are not just Trump policies they are a continuation of Obama's policies. Why single out Trump for what has been going on for years?

I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?'

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'

Her parents beamed with pride.

'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her. 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.'

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ' Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'

I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

With the Republicans firmly in control of the senate that is close to impossible. The process requires a two thirds majority which would mean that 67 senators would have to cast a "guilty" vote. I just don't see that happening anytime soon.

the longer term implication has a lot to do with the supreme court since many major divisive issues are being channeled up to the scotus for review and final judgment as both parties can’t seem to agree on them at the legislative level. with ginsburg getting old and possibly retiring within 2 years, there’s an opportunity for potus to nominate another conservative judge to the bench. and this time it will be easier with a larger majority at the senate. scotus appointments are for life, and having 6 out of 9 justices on the conservative side is an extremely powerful force to have. they can pretty much null any attempts by the liberal side to interpret the laws for their own agenda for decades to cum.

She was admitted to the hospital for treatment and observation after tests showed she fractured three ribs.

In my opinion Canada is a better place to live than the US. They have a great healthcare system. People's attitude on education, life, ...etc is also much better.

They believe in multiculturalism. The system works there because of education. All Canadians have access to education. You don't need to spend $$$ to get an education that will get you a job there. There are any polytechnics, community colleges, universities,.... to cater to everyone. You also have people supporting the system e.g. setting up scholarships for the less privileged.

In Spore one will never find a LKY scholarship because of the selfish attitude of our wealthy political leaders. Only know about people like Shaw but he lived in a pre-PAP times.

Canada has many pro-family policies that will help families. I now someone who emigrated from Spore who had 7 kids. This is something one cannot do in Spore because of the $$$ it would cost.

The very definition of a country is one where the citizens share common values and moral standards. That's how borders were drawn when the concept of "country" first came to being.

If half of a country believed in equality of sexes and the other half practiced polygamy and female genital mutilation I can guarantee you that borders would soon be redefined.

A country has to have a dominant culture or it is not a country. I'm not saying it has to be absolutely homogeneous but if there is no clarity over which culture is in charge it is a sure recipe for unrest.
