Then if the Presidential candidate is elected, the reigning PM who is a relative of the EP should resign. After all, PM is nominated by the Cabinet, and no GE is required. The EP has a stronger mandate.

In the event that Yang will become President. it will be open warfare. U don't know the meaning of acrimony until you see what will happen. Before that can happen, if LHL is the PM, and if the PAP amends the Constitution, since LHY is related to LHL, he would not be eligible as a candidate for the Presidential election.
