14 nabbed in anti-crime blitz in eastern region

SINGAPORE: Fourteen people have been arrested for suspected involvement in criminal activities in the eastern part of Singapore.

They are suspected of having been involved in activities involving drugs, secret societies, contraband cigarettes, as well as loansharking.

They were nabbed during a multi-agency operation by the police, Central Narcotics Bureau, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, Health Sciences Authority, National Environment Agency, National Parks Board and Singapore Customs.

During the 10-hour operation, which started at 8pm on Saturday, 660 people were checked at locations in Geylang, Changi, Pasir Ris and East Coast Park.

Summonses were issued to illegal hawkers in Geylang.

10 hours to arrest only 14 people?

Only 14 arrests from the kind diligent folks gathered from so many agencies?

I suspect that many of the police officers, contrary to their depiction as noble and intelligent crimefighters on Crimewatch, are actually involved in some shady criminal dealings on the side. For example, anti-vice raids are only done because certain pimps don't pay protection money, and the police officers can extort free sex from the arrested prostitutes.

There is no black or white, only shades of grey.

I was walking around an area which only has landed properties i.e. bungalows, semi-detached, terrace housing & noticed a white car owned by cisco patrolling the area:eek:

If Spore is so safe why do people feel that they have to engage the services of a third party security firm:confused:

There is a target to hit by year end and they need to do window shopping. ;)

Must produce "homework " so that can score points in appraisal.
