It is very unfortunate that those individuals kept repeating "I am humbled, etc. to serve, . .."
If they are truly humbled, and to serve, may I suggest that they forthwith, volunteer to take a pay cut, and be content to be paid an annual compensation of $500,000 or $600,000.
It is the same with the individual who was appointed due to the Reserved Presidential Elections. Notwithstanding that she was the Speaker of the Singapore Parliament, with respect, I submit that she has none of the experience and financial knowledge and acumen of a CEO of a major corporation.
All these are the result of immoral amendments to the Constitution, when the ruling party has always had a very significant majority, way more than the percentage required to make amendments to the Constitution.
The government did not campaign for the Reserved Presidential Elections at the General Elections, and therefore, the right thing to do, is to call a national referendum.
