No, If Government feels that free trade and taxes is the way to go. They will not implement 3/4 tank regulation to deter Singapore cars from pumping JB petrol. They are not believers in free trade. They only believe in free trade when they want country like India to open up and allow their GLC to do big business, but in turn allow uncontrolled numbers of foreign PMET to work in Singapore.

Malaysia can close the custom immigration and blocked out Malaysia traffic from going to Singapore and Singapore cars entering Malaysia. If this happens, the Malaysian workers will simply take public transport to Singapore for work and the current infrastructures can hardly cope, which can put a strain to Singapore side. By closing the custom, it will also force the Singaporeans who like to complain and put pressure on the Singapore government and cause chaos here. Malaysia might face some problem as well, but generally, the population there are much more subdue and they can still go other places in Malaysia as getaway places, so their government will eventually face less pressure compared to Sinkie land. When that happens we shall then see who will need who more.

Not much different. Just extra SG$10 for both way. All will just travel as normal and just KPKB & TCSS
The best thing is it will divert few % traffic to 2nd link maybe 10~20%.
When Malaysia VEP RM50 kick in, it will kill off petrol warrior or cheapo car owner. And those travel cross custom daily(stay in JB work in SG).
Estimate when Malaysia VEP kick in traffic will reduce by another 20%. The rest will just pay and KPKB.

Not true. For supermarkets only Sheng Siong actively buys from Malaysia. For suppliers, there are some mnc that locate their logistics in Malaysia and not that the products are from Malaysia. There may be price increases if this goes into a war, but i think it is not sabre rattling and doubt it will go further

Wow using bogeyman argument to scare people, come on the tolls are miniscule in relation to the amount of good brought in, one truckload only pay a few dollars more, so it is more like middlemen using the opportunity to profiteer in this situation, there is nothing you can do to stop greed, increase in tolls or not.

I agree with you on this. When the VEP for good vehicles was announced to increase from $10 to $40 per month, they already making alot of noise when the increase on a monthly basis is not significant at all. Basically these people are just trying to take opportunity to pave the way to increase price.

How many lorries can a company own for a $30 increase per month per lorry to be significant enough to complain? Especially in consideration of the value of goods transported over one month.
