Actually, religion can and should be divorced from the culture in which it originated. Most Christian churches in Singapore today have modern architecture and look nothing like the Romanesque St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. So why should mosques continue to mimic Arabian architecture?

No. The Blue Mosque is classical Ottoman architecture: central dome, 4 semi-domes, 6 minarets. The interior is decorated with blue tiles from Iznik.
