It is totally normal to weigh luggage. Those airline who ignore such steps are with a horrific past in order to get biz. It says a lot on the passengers that fly with them.

I am totally OK with weighing of luggage. It is the standard procedure.
IMHO it is contradictory to charge luggage weight.
There should be a max luggage weight allowable and that's it.
If they want to go by weight, then flight ticket should charge more for fatso too.

Passing by in poor men's thread. Bye~
This ain't a poor men thread.
It is smart wise spending.
This is the way to minimise the earnings of scammers companies and rich business man.
I apply this approach in everything I do.
That's why I didn't contribute a single cent to most rich people.
It is people like you anyhow contribute and make those people rich.

I'm grateful to the advent of budget airlines, and I'm forever grateful to Tony Fernandes who started the ball rolling in South East Asia. At the same time, it brought down prices of ordinary airlines. As a result, I'm able to travel more frequently.
Everyone in South East Asia are visiting each other's country. Good for tourism and future understanding.

Not poor men but convenient.
The poor men comment was just s cheeky comment. If I don't have two very young kiddos, I'll also take budget. Tigress and I also got discuss about it. When they are slightly more older, we will switch back to budget whenever possible.

Before the Boeing Boo Boo, the 787 Dreamliner is my undisputed choice. The Rolls Royce engine is super quiet and the size of the aircraft makes the whole experience on board super pleasant.
I always choose the B787 flights. The A321neo is 不可以. Very suffocating with only 1 aisle. Embark and Disembark also super lehcheh...

Scoot 10kg but need small & flat bag size.
Jetstar with the meal bag pack is cheaper than Scoot if bring laptop & need extra bag for longer stay.

The other budget airlines may appear cheaper at the beginning, but at the check out stage you will realize it's not cheaper than Scoot.

Sometimes if you got luggage to check in, u should check SQ before you book Scoot. Because the price after you factor in Scoot checkin luggage costs is like $20 to $50 difference with SQ. So when I see that scenario, I will book SQ because you get 25kg checkin luggage, meals on board, inflight entertainment and overall more pleasant and cleaner plane with not so many funny type passengers like on Scoot. Also no need to walk very far to boarding gate at both airports...

@LaoHongBiscuit

Why didn't your Company consider Jetstar ? Jetstar has very good departure and arrival timings.
Jetstar goes to DonMuang only and take the train very troublesome got to walk far far.

I need to fly to Suvarnabhumi. And the ARL Express train line is just downstairs of the airport. Then when reach Phayathai ARL station, can take escalators down to change to BTS Line easily...no long walking or hassle....

Jetstar goes to Suvarnabhumi and can take ARL and then MRT/BTS. Have they changed?

No idea. I don't like Jetstar so I never bother. But they could still be flying to Suvarnabhumi. But as I said, they probably using those single aisle A321neo planes which I avoid at all costs...

Why avoid? Airbus quite safe and Jetstar safety record is good. Only 1 time kenna turbulence and operated by Air Asia early this year. Pray real hard then. Really need experienced pilots from safe airline operators.

Jetstar is still going to Swampy for sure. AirAsia is the one that is exclusively DM.

A320 has good track records for sure, but I'm claustrophobic and don't like 3 by 3 seat plan. Disembarking the aircraft is a pain in the ass.

Scoot-to-Gate is the game changer for me.

Yep, these two are plus for me.
Scoot B787 is more plus and has much less hassle than those single aisle A321neos used by most budget airlines. Then again Scoot also uses them too. I avoid those Scoot A321neo planes.

And Yes too, Scoot to Gate is fabulous.
