My Thai AIS moble plan has a digital wallet which I transfer money from Bangkok Bank via the bank app to deduct every half yearly to keep my Thai AIS number alive by deducting from my AIS mobile wallet.

I think as long as your number is still subscribed by you (as in your have an existing package with the Thai mobile operator), they wouldn't kill your existing number. You should be able to walk in to the True shop to change the sim card on payment of an admin fee.
I also think so, even though my SIM prepaid.

The support agent online was trying to con me to purchase a roaming package when 90% of the time I'm in Singapore using Singapore data and Wi-Fi.

Yes. It is just an uograded sim card. You can actually take out the sim card and see if it is already a 4G card. Normally it is printed on the sim card or written 128K . Btw,you should check the APN setting on your phone too.
I'm on a dual SIM - SIMBA and TRUE. The APN is set to TPG, and I get auto roaming for my SIMBA in Malaysia (recently), Thailand, Taiwan and Japan.

It's true that Singapore shut down the 3G in November. However, I believe if my SIM is not 4G/5G then it should not affect my mobile signal.

Both my SIMBA and TRUE don't show if it's 3G or 5G or 128K. My TRUE was bought many many years ago, so I believe it was 3G because whenever I was in Thailand I would get 'H' or '4G' instead of 5G.

I keep my TRUE live by pressing certain code, but I need to switch on my TRUE auto roam for it to work. This is why without TRUE 'R' signal, I cannot work on my Thai stuff.

I have an AIS 5G Sim card which I need as I also have a bank account in Thailand. However, I didn't buy any AIS roaming package. So cannot use in Singapore. However, when I need to do banking transactions on Bangkok Bank App on my Thai phone in Singapore, I just hooked that phone with my AIS Thai simcard to wifi (either home or mobile hotspot). No problems leh. After banking transactions still can receive SMS from Bangkok Bank and also emails too.
I believe when you do banking transactions on your phone app, you don't need a OTP, eg. using PromptPay.

But to transfer directly to another account number, I believe you need OTP.

For me, I use iBanking via my computer.
