Unfortunately for hong kong and even major cities in europe, asian cities have caught up. What you have overseas, you can find in third world bangkok and KL too. And every major city in china.

I would say the good old days still begins with the numerous Kung fu and wu xia movies (law brothers, 惠英红, Derek Yee, Ngok Wah and the many beautiful actresses) that Shaw churned out, other than the Europeans in the 70s even the US was no fight with the quality and enjoyability of their movies, and back in the days of Shaw japs Koreans chinese all came tgt to corporate
