bros is anybody learning krav maga here?

I am interesting in it and i have heard of Commando Krav Maga offering course at Novena but they claim they can make an expert out of anybody in days, im not sure whether this is validated. Anybody can advise?

If you really want to learn to fight, you should learn chinese martial arts like Taichi or Wing Chun lah. See hk movies. :)

Doesn't this sound very far fetched to you? How can anyone learn anything like martial arts in days?

If this is true, I'd like to try see if anyone says so too.

To ask such a question: are you fit for combat in the first place?

who the hell is talking abt learning krav maga and going to combat. Learning something is one thing, applying it is another.

Krav Maga is cool stuff, trust me. It's about survival and it's time-tested. This art is probably one of the most practical around. Israelis face all sorts of dangers on the streets everyday. It's between life and death. That's how this art came about. You can learn this art in a short time because it's all common sense moves. No fanciful and acrobatic stunts.
If you wanna learn to fight, forget about Taichi. It'll take a whole lifetime and even then, there's no guarantee you'll turn out a fighter.
Wing Chun is a decent art but actual application takes years to finetune. In past fighting matches, Wingchun exponents couldn't stand up to Muay Thai (most of the time).
No offence, just my observations.

its not the arts itself. its the practitioner level of understanding in the arts itself.

If you are going for the health aspect of martial arts, you should consider tai chi or akido. Can practise until your LKYs age :)

before you learn, ask yourself this questions.

do you get to see alot of actions on the streets of sgp?

do you think you can react in time when someone screams Allah Akbar?

when you time comes, you cannot run away.

the chances of getting killed due to traffic accidents is much higher than anything else in SGP.
