This chap has no underworld connections. If he had, chaps on the other side of the causeway would have taken care of all matters. Many of our wanted men are up north in M'sia and Thailand. Assimilated well too and some have families there now. Several even speak Thai machiam Thais!

so far all the speculation is about money matters......also bankruptcy petition has already been filed against the suspect IBR..
it is quite likely the younger victim (CH) happened to be at the wrong plave at the wrong time
anyway this IBR, though an experienced policeman, is another retard...
he should know that his identity would most probably had been compromised already and yet he was riding his green scooter around in jb.....truely retarded.

The Kovan murder suspect, 34-year-old Singapore policeman Iskandar Rahmat, was taken by police to the crime scene at Hillside Drive at about 2.15pm on Saturday.

He spent about 10 to 15 minutes in the terrace house that belonged to murder victim Mr Tan Boon Sin before being driven away at 3pm in the same unmarked police car in which he arrived.

Neighbor Mr Sam Toh said that Iskandar appeared calm, muscular, and about 1.7m tall.

His feet and hands were handcuffed, said the 53-year-old, a coffee shop owner.

Neighbors who could see the action in 14J said that officers were measuring different parts of the house.

He was apprehended at 11.30pm last night in Danga Bay, Johor, after having fled to Malaysia at 11pm on Wednesday, the day of the murders.

Iskandar was a senior staff sergeant at Bedok Police Station. He has served with the force for 14 years.

Police commissioner Ng Joo Hee said at a press conference on Saturday morning that today was "a sad day for the police".

Maybe the old Mr Tan confronted the Mat cop and demanded that he stop 纠缠不清 with his son, because a rich towkay son must not be seen by others as gay... a loss of face.
But Mat cop refused and killed him. The son tried to stop his Mat cop lover but was accidentally killed.

Oh my, I can't wait for a movie based on this story.

The facts is there's many gays sevice in the police force , I think the police comm already knew it . Those gays usually work in the charge office , NPP , lock up and control room

If the NST source is correct, IHP's theory that there is a gay thing involved could be right.

But if you read the article from yahoo news below, it doesn't tie in to the police report that the elder Mr Tan made in Nov 2012.
Unless the suspect got to know the younger Mr Tan as a result of this report? That's unlikely.

The suspect arrested in the Kovan suspected double murder case is now in Singapore police custody.

He has been identified as Iskandar bin Rahmat.

He is a senior staff sergeant at Bedok Police Division with 14 years of experience in the force.

Police revealed these details at a press conference Saturday morning, which was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean -- who is also the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs -- and Police Commissioner Ng Joo Hee.

"Today is a sad day for the police," said Ng. "Today, we have arrested a murder suspect who is also a policeman."

He acknowledged that there will be public backlash - "Most of it will be an outcry critical of the police, questioning the quality and integrity of the police officers," he said.

"Even as we investigate the murders, the police also look to find out what has led an individual who has sworn to uphold the law to now stand accused of breaking it in the most grievous way," he added.

DPM Teo said, "No one is above the law. Anyone who breaks the law, in particular officers placed in positions of trust or authority will have to face the full weight of the law. We have zero tolerance for officers who break the law."

Relationship with victim unclear

The suspect, 34, was arrested at 11.30pm on Friday night, within 56 hours of the alleged crime, by Malaysian police at a restaurant at Danga Bay, Johor.

He had left Singapore at 11pm on Wednesday, the day of the Kovan deaths, and crossed over to Malaysia on a scooter.

Police say that Iskandar had personal debt issues. He was the police officer attending to elder victim Tan Boon Sin when he made a police report in November 2012. The extent of the relationship between the two is not known.

The story is developing. We will bring you more details as they emerge.

You don't beat the grass to alert the snake. Police is right to pretend that they don't know anything, so the suspect will let guard down.

The NsT report is too sensational. Doubt he's gay, more likely murder due money issue. He may have tried to borrow or extort money from the victim?
