每年春節旺季過後，陸客來台人數都會縮減，直到五一長假才會再掀起另一波來台熱潮，但今年有些不同，目前交通部收到的數字顯示，3月陸客團來台人數不減反增，且團客較去年同期增長87%，多了4.5萬人次，讓官員相當意外。
據指出，3月陸客來台淡季不淡，不只團客有「爆團」情形，自由行也持續增加，外傳這與年底總統選舉熱季前陸方會縮減團客，加上「韓流」效應持續延燒有關。對此，交通部觀光局官員表示，還需再多方了解，目前無法評論。
相關官員表示，今年3月陸客來台狀況與去年同期相比，呈現成長態勢，且自由行與團客雙雙成長，初步統計較去年同期增加6.4萬餘人次，其中團客就多了4.5萬人，與過去春節旺季後的淡季相比，出現罕見的逆勢成長。
官員分析，近期確有觀光業界傳言，因為明年1月我舉行總統大選，今年底就進入選舉旺季，屆時陸方會循往例在選舉前縮減來台團客人數，所以上半年會有「爆團」情形，是否與選舉因素有關，很難判斷。
不過，官員坦言「韓流」效應確實仍在延燒，今年1至3月陸客在高雄住宿比例為全台各縣市之冠，這是很少見的情況。另外，高雄市長韓國瑜日前訪問大陸，其中一站到廈門行銷宣傳高雄，大陸國台辦發言人安峰山就表示，鼓勵旅行社組織遊客前往高雄旅遊，廈門近期將組織8,000名遊客分批赴高雄旅遊，若真的兌現，陸客住宿高雄比例還會拉高。
官員說，今年第1季數字尚未精算出來，但以1至2月數字來看，陸客來台人數52萬餘人，與去年同期相比增加1.4萬多人，成長2.75％，以目前3月數字來看，第1季陸客來台人數應會較去年同期成長，至於全年情況，還是要再觀察。
