Kopitiam 2 Half Boiled Eggs Increased Price Significantly by 7% from $1.4 to $1.5

I had my 2 half boiled eggs in Kopitiam this morning and I diged out by $1.4 coins and to my surprise, the chinese PRC said the price is increased to $1.5 with effect from today.

That is 7% increase.

Both malaysia and Singapore are heavily rely on foreign workers but why Singapore kopitiam food is so expensive?

Many parts of Malaysia have been hit by floods. This would naturally lead to higher demand for food, including eggs. Also, sinkies are always clamouring for higher pay. Where's the extra money to pay them gonna come from, except from raising prices?

Besides, the same sinkie who complains about his eggs costing $0.10 more is the same sinkie would thinks nothing for splashing out $100k for a new car, or spending $10 at a cafe for coffee and cake.
