St Peter, St Paul and St John all spent time in Prison for causing riots as a result of their preaching. Their message was one of salvation through belief in Christ as God's instrument to save every human being through his crucifixion. This message contradicted the Jewish belief that salvation came through the rites and rituals of the Laws of Moses. The Christian message also contradicted the Roman belief in their numerous gods and their Emperor as a god.
Instead of sitting down for a good inter-faith discussion, the Jews and other subjects of Rome started to attack the Christians and staged riots, forcing the authorities to detain the Christians for causing the mobs to go berserk.
In Prison, St Paul converted the Prison officer. Banished to a prison-island, St John wrote the last book of the Bible.
Jesus was never imprisoned. However, upon his death, his spirit was sent to the spirit-prisons where he preached to the spirits......before his resurrection 3 days later.
