Xi Jinping has all along planned to dethrone Kim Jong Un and replace him with his elder brother. Kim Jong Un definitely hates Xi Jinping whom he has never met. Two of his recent missile and nuclear testings were timed exactly when Xi Jinping was about to address world leaders at China's summits.
Could Xi Jinping's decision to become the emperor of China for life made Kim Jong Un to reconsider his nuclear position and enter into talks with Donald Trump? Could he be giving up his nuclear toys in exchange for US security against China? Are we about to witness a game changing scenario in East Asia security? A North Korea that is aligned with the US? Or even a unified Korea that is aligned with the US?
I believe there's nothing China fears more than a nuclear free North Korea that is friendly to the US. Donald Trump would have more resources to push back against China in the South China Sea, in Taiwan, in the East China Sea and in the massive trade imbalance. I hope Donald Trump succeeds in making the deal of all deals.
