All these new sanctions against Russia, will they be imposed if not for this current war? Even if you want to be biased in your view, at least be sensible and logical. Otherwise, your argument carries no weight.

Furthermore, I think it is good that Europe (especially Germany and Italy) has now woken up not to depend on a sole supplier for most of its energy needs. Otherwise, they could be held at ransom like now.

Russia and China are allies of convenience only. Russia has always feared that one day, China will want to take over all of Siberia and also to reclaim back parts of the Amur region signed away by the Qing government in the late 1800s.

Like in the tale of the heron vs the clam, I'm guessing China is hoping Russia and the West hurt each other, and China will come in like the proverbial fisherman and catch them both for his dinner.
