Further pre-trial conference set for kidney-for-sale case
Lawyers for C K Tang chairman Tang Wee Sung, middlemen Wang Chin Sing and Whang Sung Lin met in court for a pre-trial conference today.
Lawyers say the conference is meant to iron out some issues and to update the court on their representation.
A further pre-trial conference has been set for the 14th of this month.
Wang's lawyer, Sashi Nathan, told 938LIVE that he has made representation to the Attorney-General Chambers.
This is to explain Wang's side of the story.
Ms Nathan added that Wang is currently assisting police in further investigations.
All 3 were charged in court in mid-July for their roles in the kidney-for-sale case.
They had allegedly made arrangements to buy a kidney from Indonesian Sulaiman Daminik.
Tang had allegedly paid Wang 300,000 dollars for being the middleman.
But this was discovered before the transplant could take place.
Whang had allegedly introduced Tang to Wang.
Tang was slapped with 3 charges.
Wang faces 10 counts, of which 6 are related to Tang's case, while Whang faces one count.
