Actually, this may well be what the PAPzis are working towards, i.e. getting Singaporeans to say how wrong it is to put the elderly into homes (especially when these institutions are in another country) and therefore throwing the issue back at the population.

The PAPzis have cleverly steered our response in their favour, so they can then say, 'even you agree it is bad to put your parents in homes, so take them back and care for them ... and don't make us foot the bill.'

Like I said in the other thread, this is the government's secret invasion plan of Johor. Just like how we took over Bintan and Batam, we're trying to invade Johor now. This is just the first step, they cannot come out and admit it coz the Mat government might stop them.

i thot there is a minister full-time looking at our ageing problem? Is this is the solution that they are proposing? That when we are all old and finished serving the economy, we be shipped out to Johor nursing homes to wait for our time?

In any case, I heard many cases where people after retirement will migrate to China or Thailand to retire where costs are cheaper. To export the older folks is definitely an innovative way to solve your ageing problems. will we hear NTUC investing in JB for nursing homes? It seems that they have their fingerprints in almost all businesses in Singapore.

I have have gone to Batam on a full ferry & on reaching Batams Harbour Bay many of the passengers switch to another boat heading for the casino.
