What's that smell?

AS A resident of Jurong West for the better part of my life, I cannot help but notice in the past few years and increasingly, there is a strong and nauseating smell of cocoa or soya sauce.
It presumably comes from the industrial area, and lingers in the air for a few days each week.
While I remember letters written to ST Forum by other residents of Jurong West, it seems the National Environment Agency (NEA) has done nothing to address this issue.
Can the NEA explain the source of the air pollution and assure residents that the air in Jurong is still safe, and do something about this?

During my time it was OVALTINE...I must say, I do smell Cocoa ( Chocolate) from Boon Lay MRT Station platform...I think Cardbury is round the corner...soya sauce..hmmm no!

It is a welcome smell from all the FT's that pollutes the air...:D

Do you want the old time pigsty smell or the present cocoa aroma ?
How about changing to coffee beans aroma ? Get use to it, it is the ulu part of neglected SG land, always the last to get develop.

It's not from cadbury. It's from the cocoa factory a few doors away, the smell of the raw cocoa beans smells like a little like soya sauce.
And the factory has been there for at least 20 years, if not more.
