“We place fans at the Shiseido Forest Valley every night to stimulate wind-flow so that our plants get the opportunity to “exercise“ and move their limbs, aka branches. If the plants do not exercise for a long period of time, their branches will become weak. Just like human beings need to exercise regularly too!”
As part of the Jewel landscape team, Nikkole manages all aspects of the trees and plants in Jewel. Besides routine maintenance works, the team will also plan regular seasonal floral displays to enhance the overall Jewel experience for all guests. This includes the different installations at Canopy Park’s Petal Gardens where there will be displays put up to commemorate different festivals, such as National Day, Christmas and even Chinese New Year.
“I have been a part of the team even before Jewel was built, and this project feels very much like a child to me. I am proud to have witnessed its growth from the planning stage to what it is today, an iconic destination in Singapore!
