There has been a change of leadership at the National Solidarity Party.

Former secretary-general, lawyer Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss, has been voted out. In her place is fellow lawyer Tan Lam Siong, 53. Mr Tan was among Mrs Chong-Aruldoss' campaign team during her electoral bid for the Mountbatten SMC seat in 2011.

Business consultant Sebastian Teo, 66, was re-elected to his sixth consecutive term as party president, the top post in the party hierarchy.

Speaking to The New Paper, Mr Teo said the party was not ready to release the full list of CEC members until after the committee had its first meeting on Feb 2.

A source close to the party told TNP that there had been two camps with different ideas on how to bring the party forward: the old guard led by Mr Teo, and a younger set led by Mrs Chong-Aruldoss.

"In a way, the old guard felt they wanted something they were familiar with, and they felt the next general elections would be their last chance at being elected into Parliament," the source said.

Goh Meng Seng has incited a revolt...

This sounds very selfish, if true.

Who cares? I will give them my vote if they come to my constituency. Old or young, I will vote for them. :)

The next election is not about PAP against opposition. The next election is about who forms the government. It is also about opposition against opposition - who will become irrelevant.

but I can not say AhMeng says AhMeng stir shit :D:D

Sama sama lah...Meng and Seng are all shit stirrers... just different arena... Ah Meng stir shit here in SBF..Ah Seng stir everywhere else..:D

The opposition parties should stop using communistic titles like secretary general etc.

The leadership structure should be simple ...leader, deputy leader, treasurer, executive committee ...that's it.

Stop aping the PAP. Fight the PAP on your own terms, not their, if you want to win.

yeah. anything except the PAP.

Actually, it is simply an internal election, on what basis the msm use the word "ousted"?

GMS, Hazel Poa, Jeannette Alrudoss, Tan Lam Siong.
In NSP the Sec-Gen is a musical chair only Sebastian holds the President's post forever!

Not surprised. At a grassroots informal gathering, some grassroots were worried about the rise of the opposition in recent years. Yet, other wiser seniors pointed that in all cases, the PAP does not need to do anything. The opposition are perpetually disunited, and are fighting themselves as though they have already kicked out PAP. In all cases, PAP only needs to sit back and give the opposition room. You can always count on the opposition to self-destruct as they always do.

WP managed to win some seats simply because they managed to behave like PAP. People now see WP as a credible alternative simply because WP behaves like PAP - united, non-confrontational and getting involved with grassroots work.

Parties like RP, NSP, SDA and SDP will end up fucking themselves as they always do.

same thing can be said of the white scums.

once the old white scum is gone all the power struggles will surface.

as for self destructions, oppo cause can also sit back and relax because the white scums have long been scoring spectacular own goal after spectacular own goal.

PAP has a hand in this matter.

The bunch of "old guards" are full of PAP spies. Yap Yap, I am saying "PAP spies". ;)It is better for Cheong to leave NSP and join other party. Too late to form another party now.
