Jaywalking menace in Geylang

I WOULD like to bring to the attention of the authorities the dangers of pedestrians jaywalking in Geylang.
Every evening, many foreign workers can be spotted sitting on the kerb, while others stand and chat in the left lane, so cars have to swerve to avoid them.

To make matters worse, some cross the road when the traffic lights are in the motorists' favour. When motorists sound their horns, some foreign workers stand in the middle of the road, glaring and refusing to budge, forcing drivers to slam their brakes. This poses a danger to both workers and motorists.

I have been a resident there for years and have not seen any action being taken by the authorities. The situation in recent months seems to have deteriorated.

I hope the authorities will do something before someone gets hurt.

just take matters into your own hands. drive real close to those PRCs and banglas.. knock them if they dun give way. horn them non-stop.

if they stare at you, stop your car, open the door, go out and tell them :

jaywalking in geylang is a far cry compared to the condition of serangoon road
the roads no longer passable for vehicles, the banglas fill the streets like ants. maybe its time to charge them road tax for hording on the roads.
