Chinese learned their lesson and learned it the hard way. It will be foolish of them to let history repeat itself.

This is a territorial dispute, who is screwing who, who is right, who is wrong the facts are still in the grey area.

Remember Japan is still under sanction though they got two atomic burns but if China go on the offensive it will give them the excuse to retaliate, to go on the offensive. All hell will break loose, it will be war.

Japan has no concerns about military threat given the threaty with USA not to mention large US installations in Okinawa.

Japan backed down because of potential economic pressure. Probably lots of hot air from the natinalistic fringes on both sides. Hopefully it blows away in a week or 2.

The incident is minute but the territorial dispute is a nagging one. So far diplomacy is able hold off the tension and hostility but can it sustain indefinitely with the dispute remaining unresolved.

Until then anything can happen, economic can always escalate to military actions if one side provokes another.
