MFA advices Singaporeans to avoid Japan travels
The Japan Metropolitan Agency announced on 13 March that there is a 70% chance of a magnitude 7.0 or greater earthquake. -AsiaOne

Mon, Mar 14, 2011
AsiaOne
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) released a statement on Monday that strongly urges Singaporeans "to defer non-essential travel to Japan."
The MFA pointed out in its statement that, "The situation in the areas most affected by the earthquake of 11 March 2011 continues to be fluid.
"The Japan Metropolitan Agency announced on 13 March that there is a 70% chance of a magnitude 7.0 or greater earthquake in the same region as the magnitude 9.0 earthquake within the next 3 days.
"This may trigger another tsunami and aftershocks of over magnitude 6.0."
Singaporeans who cannot avoid travelling to Japan at this time are strongly advised to eRegister with the MFA at http://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/.
They should also attempt to avoid to avoid areas that are affected by the earthquake and tsunami as there continues to be many disruptions on the ground.
This will enable MFA and the Singapore Embassy in Tokyo to contact and render Singaporeans the necessary consular assistance in case of emergencies.
