Jailed for filming underskirt

A MAN who took four photographs of a woman's underskirt with his camera phone was jailed for three weeks on Wednesday.
Teo Tiew Leong, 32, a real estate agent, pleaded guilty to intruding into the privacy of a 26-year-old woman at an escalator at Punggol Plaza, Punggol Field, on Dec 6 last year.
A magistrate's court heard that a 33-year-old man was queuing up with another for a POSB ATM machine at Level 3 of the shopping complex when he saw Teo on the escalator and standing close behind the victim.
Teo was then seen taking out a mobile phone and placing it on his right knee. The witness suspected that he was taking photographs of the woman's upskirt.
The witness and his companion went after Teo and caught him at Level 4.
The victim was informed and found four photos which had been taken from below her skirt on Teo's phone.
Pleading for leniency, Teo's lawyer, Mr Luke Lee said his client was suffering from undiagnosed and untreated depression at the time.
He said Teo, who has a young daughter, was undergoing treatment. Teo's wife had post-natal blues and attempted suicide about two years ago and was dependent on him, the lawyer added.
Teo could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined for the offence.
