Graeme Draper admitted to manslaughter
A 26-year-old Briton has been found guilty of killing his baby because he had disturbed his afternoon nap, a media report said on Tuesday. Graeme Draper admitted to manslaughter and was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the Truro Crown Court.
Draper hurled his three-month-old son, Kodi Martin, into a baby bouncer and then grabbed him so violently his head snapped back, UK's The Sun reported.
The jobless man from Plymouth, about 310 km from London, had dozed off in front of a television while watching a Formula One Grand Prix. Kodi's mother Tammy wanted to go shopping and leave the baby in Draper's care for just around 10 minutes in Plymouth.
Kodi suffered brain injuries and died in hospital three weeks later
Draper became annoyed at being woken up. He flew into such a temper at the baby's continual crying that he was "a mad couple of minutes" and flung him into the bouncer, the Truro Crown Court heard. Kodi suffered brain injuries and died in hospital three weeks later.
Draper earlier said the bouncer had shaken the baby to death, but confessed after police proved to him that it was impossible. Draper admitted to manslaughter and was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
