You don't call a press conference to apologize to your family members. It's ridiculous to do so.
I think you are absolutely right there , his wife must have known his ECA activities after he marriage but she is probably unwilling to let go a man who has started to get famous in acting. Any woman will admire a rising star in the movie industry , she gets as much attention as Jack when they are in public places. At the same time he is also making good money , why kill a golden goose that lay golden eggs? It will be lonely , depessing and scary to be divorced and fend for herself if she confronts Jack much earlier. The threat from Wendy Chong is too strong to be ignored , when she showed up at his house , he realised this is it , he has to face the music or continue his illicit relationship under her whims and fancy. He knew it will be too high a price to pay if he submits to Wendy , better let this whole episode explode and see if there are any casualties ....hopefully no one from his family .As it turn out everything seems under control except bad publicity and shame brought upon him and his family .
Damage control exercise to quickly save his business as this will be their main bread and butter, so apologise to his wife in press conference which is like another scene in his movies .....nothing to worry about. If can get away with the public , business as usual and money will keep rolling in again.
Unfortunately , his preparation of the sppech in press conference is all "gabra" , he should have apologised to Wendy Chong's parents and all the gals/women he has taken a free ride before .If this is done in a sincere manner , he would have won public sympathy BUT all these "gabra" acting will help the public to forgive & forget NOT . Wonder if he had done anything more than just these women and young gals , any young boys dare to stand up to point at him?
He cannot be a role model anymore , his years of good acting is completely wiped out by this scandal , he sure hates Wendy to the bones ! A GOD fearing person should not hide behind his faith to commit such acts , he should be expelled from church for bringing ill repute to the congregation. But Jack is not alone , there are many men and women who are seemingly religious yet lead a similar lifestyle.
Jack's leopard prints will not go away , history will repeat itself down the road.....just watch
