Today, some school teachers began preaching to students (including upper primary) about the merits of PAP and tell the kids to share with their parents.

Ok election is over. Time to disclose what they did.

Here's an example shared by parents chatgroup:

A primary school in opposition ward had the teachers telling the kids:

1. "PAP did a lot for the country. PAP built the country. Go home and tell your parents because they are too young to know" They assumed parents are 30-40 years old.
2. "Singaporeans must support PAP"
3. "Worker's Party is racist, don't support workers party." However the teachers never read Raeesah's actual post, even muslim teachers preached to their kids that workers party was racist. Raeesah's posts was a factual comparison.

Such brainwashing.

Over weekend I had some time to reflect on the GE2020. I went hiking on Black Prince Cirque in Kananaskis.

I was happy WP won another GRC. Also the PAP lost some share of votes from 69% to 61%.

Also the opposition made some headway in the West. TCB and West Coast GRC with PSP's narrow loss.

I know opposition seemed to be happy. And why shouldn't they be right? You celebrate any good news.

Well here's the bad news.

We look at opposition wins at 60% as "very good". Safe comfortable wins. Somehow I also felt that way.

I watched Dr Ang Yong Guan going around Marymount and saying every 2, 1 is our supporter. I felt happiness and hope for him at the next GE.

So if it is 60% wins then for the loser it means every 5 people 2 are our supporters.

It is not that comfortable if you ask me.

So both sides should be feeling nervous now.

PAP still won 61% of the vote share. That's good news if it was opposition winning isnt it?

Meanwhile the opposition is not out of the woods yet. I know people posted all votes in WP contested wards and proudly said WP won 50.49% of votes ie win.

Notice how fine the margins are?

So really I think while it is right to celebrate the seat victories and psychological blow to the PAP, things could easily swing back in favour of the PAP in 4 years time if they play their cards right.

The question I have is whether the PAP switches to a new strategy to win the hearts and minds of the young voters? Or do they revert back to their hatchet man bully tactics that worked.

I have noted that the PAP has not gone in hard fo bully sinkies and opposition as much as before. And look what it has done for the PAP?

The PAP might decide hey we are known as the bad guys anyway now. So let's full on be the bad guys.

Full on aggressive bullying and coercion from now on.

Be careful sinkies. You might have just reawakened the Diablo in the PAP.

To be honest, I know there are some teachers who celebrate liberty but they are rare and usually teach in JC or Poly.
