SINGAPORE — Finance Minister Lawrence Wong on Wednesday night (22 September) said that he did not make "any of those comments" in response to a question by a netizen about a "lousy school" comment in Parliament.

Wong was responding in his Facebook Live post about securing jobs and livelihoods for Singaporeans.

The netizen Dex Wong asked the minister in the comments section, “Actually I think people are more interested to know whether you were the one who made the "lousy school" comment in Parliament.”

Wong replied, “Thanks for the question. I assure you that I did not make any of those comments.”

Another netizen 树寶 commented, “Thank you Sir for the clarification. People who suspected that you make those comments should apologise to you.”

KNN my uncle say lansai lah KNN if he is lw he will say KNNBCCB does it matter which school is lousy which school is good KNN

End of the day, good school, lousy school, world class universities makes no difference- all cannot compete against talents from ALL MIGHTY CECA.
Why PAP spent so much time, energy, to defend CECA?

I would like to suggest to PAP to send all PRESIDENT SCHOLARS to CECAland for their first degree as they are so good

That means the culprit is Vivian the fuckein neh with a women's name?

So Vivian bears the brunt of it eh..... actually doesn't surprise me. This bastard has repeatedly been exposed as a fucking elitist.

So i guess its true.... he did hold fast to his 'values'. Just that they were fucked up ones!

Vivian is the one that started it, LW is saying he not the one that replied to VB.

anyway, it is the machinery going into LW protection mode. no point pushing this, all the dogs will come out and protect the current front runner for PM, anyway I'd rather have him as PM than any of the other clowns although he kinda short and will look like a dwarf in front of most other world leaders

No need to fight... all schools are lousy schools, since the MOE is a lousy institution.

It's just that the 'branded' schools have higher expectations based on their reputation and history etc.

Analogy: football clubs playing in a shitty league. Even if you're a 'better' football club, you're still trash.

At this stage...singkies can only hope for the best amongst a bad lot. Better than vivian n shan...

The gays are furiousky sucking his dick. Hiw can any man talk like this. Yuck

I am sorry your honorable Lawrence Wong.

Apologies. Thought it sounded like you but I am wrong.

Actually You are right, that he is the better ones among the clowns. I have observed that he is one of the few Mini that doesn't asked his PR team to delete negative comments about him on his Social Media Platform. There is both a fair bit of negative and positive posts. Big contrast if you went to
the latest Mini to be in the news in handling of covid....all positive comments zero negative comments .

In fact if you go to the Ministry of Health FB page, you see lots of Caucasians , which according to their profile, some staying in Holland, Switzerland , UK etc etc there to defend and promote what the MOH policies are regarding Covid. They are there on almost daily basis.....so are these PR consultants being employed with tax payers money just like during the 1MDB era where Najib employed a UK consultant to push his narratives ?

What Initially Happened
Some ministers were caught chit-chatting in Parliament, with their personal conversations picked up by the microphone.
During Tuesday’s (Sept 14) Parliamentary session, the ministers, presumably Vivian Balakrishnan, Tan See Leng were heard saying:

Minister A: “He’s illiterate. Seriously, how did he get into RI?”
Minister B: “Must have been a lousy school. I’m from Monk’s Hill.”

The comments came after Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) Leong Mun Wai
spoke about the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Singapore and India, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (Ceca).
RI refers to Raffles Institution, where Mr Leong studied in the 1970s, while Dr Tan studied at Monk’s Hill Secondary School. Dr Balakrishnan received his early education at Anglo-Chinese School.

The ministers were speaking amongst themselves, but the comments were picked up by the mic.
Dr Balakrishnan shared that he apologised to Mr Leong for his comments on Wednesday, yet many netizens pushed the issue, wondering if Mr Wong was involved as well because Mr Wong was seated next to Dr Balakrishnan. /TISG

Minister A: “He’s illiterate. Seriously, how did he get into RI?”

It depends on where the punctuation is.

1. If it is as above:
Minister A: “He’s illiterate. Seriously, how did he get into RI?”
Minister B: “Must have been a lousy school. I’m from Monk’s Hill.”
Then it was Dr. Tan See Leng who made the remark as Dr. Tan See Leng was from Monk's Hill.

2. If it is:
Minister A: “He’s illiterate. Seriously, how did he get into RI? Must have been a lousy school."
Minister B: “I’m from Monk’s Hill.”
Then it was Vivian Balakrishnan who made the remark.

3.
2. If it is:
Minister A: “He’s illiterate. Seriously, how did he get into RI?"
Minister C: "Must have been a lousy school."
Minister B: “I’m from Monk’s Hill.”
Then who is Minister C? Lawrence Wong
