A family in Ipoh could only watch in disbelief as their Toyota Alphard was stolen from their home in Meru Garden on Sunday, 29 September.​

The incident went viral after TikTok user @farrahouz1 shared a 15-second video showing the car being driven away by a thief in the middle of the night.

The video, which has over 2.8 million views, shows the robbery happening around 3:50am while the family watched from their living room.

Despite shouting and the alarm going off, the robbers didn’t seem bothered.

In the caption, the owner explained that the thieves broke their automatic gate and used a remote device to unlock the car.

“It only took them 5-7 minutes to start the car, and they didn’t even run when we yelled. We were too scared to go outside, thinking they might have others with them or weapons,” she wrote.

She also warned other owners of similar cars, like Toyota Alphards, Vellfires, and Ford Rangers, to be extra careful.
As reported by Harian Metro, Ipoh police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin confirmed that a police report was filed at 4:19am, stating that the car was stolen from within the house compound.

The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code, and the police are asking anyone with info to contact the Ipoh District control centre at +605-2542222.
