Israel defence budget only 16 BILLION

Just cant understand , Israel with constant war threat , there budget is only US$16billion. But singapore without war or anything , our defence budget last yr is 11 billion !

What the hell is our MINDEF doing ?

JERUSALEM: The Israeli cabinet approved a US$91-billion draft budget in a marathon session that concluded at 2 am on Monday public radio reported.

Thirteen ministers voted in favour of the draft budget presented by Finance Minister Roni Bar-On and 12 voted against.

Of the total US$16 billion destined for defence, US$2.4 billion will come from US aid.
Parliament is scheduled to hold a final vote on the draft later this year, although the timetable could be extended by three months if the budget has not been passed by December 31.

Should parliament still reject the budget by the end of March, the government would collapse and snap elections would have to be held within three months.

Hallo, most of the budget goes to the pay of the so call high flyer officers. A battalion CO's pay is at least 12k per mth , a performer bouns at march every year would let them pocket at least 50k extra
