I think the old was also good.
Maybe better

As the video begins, it's as though I've stepped into a time machine, whisked away to a cherished era I've wandered through countless times in my dreams. The swaying coconut trees, the quaint shop houses, the boy pedaling his bicycle, and the vintage buses and cars—they paint a picture of my Singapore, a place of timeless beauty and nostalgia. Oh, how enchanting it is!

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I was in Pri 5 in 1967. I still recognise the streets and many of the buildings, though many no longer exist. This nostalgic moment made me shed a tear.

anytime over the 32-door night soil bucket truck 69 years ago. if you wish to go back in time, shitting into the bucket in a cockroach-infested shithole in the middle of the night would give you the creeps.

Anyone had the opportunity to live in a Kampong.
Is there any kampong left in Singapore?

Mr Salleh, Thank you for posting this out. I know a lot of hard work went into this. I was born in the 1960's and so, so appreciate this, to know my roots, the roots of Singaporean and all Singaporeans who have long gone. A special thanks to our Contributors and the beautiful music playing also. That's Reminscience for you.

I left Singapore 30 years ago to be in my village by Lake Victoria, Uganda.
I know nearby Katong Park was Tanjong Rhu.
This song was very popular long long ago.

I didn't know Singapore was this beautiful in the 1970's. And Singapore is still beautiful today. My grandma sang this song in 1971 when she was 21 years old. She still remembers the lyrics to this day. She's 73 now.

Oh yes those were the happy days of our lives. I remember we were the only Malay family that grew up in Chitty Road at that time. Not only did we played with the other kids of all races from that stretch of road but also with kids from Upper Perak Road, Weld Road, Veerasamy Road, Hindu Road and Rowell Road. When my dad bought a Korting TV, neighbours came to our house to watch as well. During Singapore Grand Prix season at Thomson Road, we went down to Sungei Road to look for ball-bearing wheels and made our own race-cars. Some used old wheels from baby prams. We raced up and down that stretch of houses, one driver to sit and steer and one other to push. What games did we not played? When one of our Chinese neighbour played for a basketball team "The Sukiyaki" at the CC across the road, all my brothers and sisters came to support. Even though we are muslims, we went into the Kampong Kapor Methodist Church to sing songs, played games and watch movies with all the kids. Oh yes those were the happy days of our lives.

---- he very smart lor. He didn't mention Desker Road.

I saw at least 3 Singhs in the video.
Now when I leetrun back to Singapore for a holiday from my village by Lake Victoria, Uganda, I hardly saw any Singh.
I think most migrate liao.

The video took me back to my time in NS when my excellent Hokkien fellow soldiers would call me "Singh arrrrrrhhhhhhhh"
and introduced me to The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" of life.
lol
