ROME - A Chinese man and his two-year-old daughter were shot dead and the man's wife wounded in Rome late Wednesday during a botched robbery, Italian media reports said.

The man, who had yet to be identified, was with his wife and daughter when two youths approached them on a scooter and demanded money.

When the family refused, all three were shot, the Repubblica newspaper said citing eyewitness reports.

The man died instantly from a bullet to the chest while his young daughter, who was in his arms at the time, was shot in the head and died on the way to hospital, according to the Corriere della Sera daily's website.

The woman was being treated for a gunshot wound to the arm.

Police have launched an investigation into the attack, one of a growing number of shootings in the Italian capital over the past few months.

more like economy turning into chaos. high unemployment turning youth to crime to make a living. and it does not help being in a racist country as a foreigner and cannot speak the langague.

It doesn't help for the Chinese as they are seen as rich like the Japs during the 80's.

Gov apply for loan no more money so does the Italian mafia. No money who want follow Mafia leader order. So every gangster find their own way to get money.
