Is S'pore getting too crowded?

FIVE million people and growing.
Singapore's latest census revealed that the population has crossed the 5 million mark for the first time, hitting 5.08 million this year.
While Singapore may be growing in terms of population, it also needs to grow in terms of attitude and approach towards life. In other words, the 'it takes two hands to clap' theory works best given present circumstances.
That was the key takeaway during a RazorTV studio discussion on Singapore's burgeoning population and the influx of foreigners to our shores.
The predominant recommendation - remain open to the idea of integrating foreigners into society, and encourage a two-way process to assimilate language, culture and values.
Other hot button issues of concern to many Singaporeans such as housing, jobs, service standards and a widening gender imbalance were also discussed.
