Is recent housing construction safe? Can developers be trusted?

People staring at the cracked open ceilings of their flats built in the Teh Chean Wan era and seeing more sand than cement in the harden mixture knows the Ali Babaing of yesteryears can only sigh and put the cross on the PAP box of their voting slips.

That is not the real question. The real question is why would HDB give u a 99 lease when everyone can see that their flats will not last 99 years? Answer: They have no intention of honouring the full term of the lease. That by itself should have been a big warning sign.

A big warning sign should have been a question asked, "Is Lee Kuan Yew an honourable man?"

Come on, which HDB owner truly buys a flat to keep for 99 years? Everybody is eyeing for short term profits or big bucks when estates go enbloc. Nothing to do with build-quality.
