Serious Is our tap water drinkable? Do we really need to boil first?

Please boil water before drinking.

There are ants that always go to drink water from my boiled water container, that I now seal my boiled water container.

I conducted an experiment, putting a dish of boiled water and a dish of tap water, side by side. The ants only went for the boiled water.

Therefore, please boil water before drinking! The ants will not lie. Tap water is not the same as before.
Ants are a source of protein.

5.2-5.7? That's harsh.

May I suggest sodium fluoride instead of chloride? As far as I know, there should be no chlorides in sinkie sai cui.
chlorine is used in the disinfection process in pub's water treatment chart (no. 5). sodium silicofluoride is added to the water starting from the filtration process (no. 4) all the way to the clear water tank (no. 8). fluoridation helps to prevent dental caries and has been a moh requirement since 1956.9. it's not the same disinfectant like chlorine which is used to destroy bacteria and viruses. in addition to chlorine as a disinfectant, 2 water treatment plants at both ends of sg (cck and bedok) use ozone on top of the chlorine. moreover, to form a stable chlorine residual, ammonia is added in the treated water containing free chlorine.

Process 1 to 6 is fine. The quality is guaranteed. 7 and 8 is when you have problems depending on where you live, where the pipes run, who maintain your pipes, who decides to swim inside rooftop tanks etc

yalor. after 6.9, bangla flavor may be added depending on who baths and swims in the residential tanks.

Boiling water is a very expensive way to treat water. If you really want to treat the tap water, use a reverse osmosis system. It will remove all the chemical contaminants that boiling cannot remove. Best is distillation, but RO is where the sweet spot for water treatment is.

Long long time ago our agong lky said our water can drink directly from tap. Guys, what's your habit?
I boil sometime. But my fridge cold water is direct fill from tap.
I know plain water from restaurants or atas makan places is also from tap

Guess I'm out of date. Last time I saw this stuff was in the 80s. They were mooting ozone back then. Adding ammonia eh? That would give you your chlorides. I remember only chlorine. Must be some newer standard. The ozone must be to get rid of the sai cui smell....

really? RO and distilled taste weird to me. I like it for doing technical stuff, but drinking...

My uncle wanted to ask does samsters wash their water boiler or don't need wash ? My uncle realised his boiler inside got rust even is not verlee old. Google say can use vinegar cleaner or baking soda to boil wash.
sweetie. Vinegar will remove the rust but promote formation of new rust. Unfortunately, if the boiler is rusting, means the construction prone to rust. Removing scale is another matter.

For drink tap water. It's been heavily contaminated by chemicals. If can buy a water filter

your water filter can remove those chemicals? I'm sometimes dubious because those filters look too simple to do the job.

Flouride europe banned for decades, sinkies still drinking. Brain dmg is not an issue here

sinkieland tap water has never been drinkable. Back to the 70s they have overchlorinated it, and it used to be so bad you could smell the chlorine in it. Then they try to blend sai chwee with the potable water supply until some scientist told them even after many filtrations and treatments, sai chwee was still toxic. Now sai chwee is used for industrial purposes, but too late. sinkies already consumed it. U ever ask yourself why sinkieland got so many cancer cases or not?

It may or may not remove all harmful chemicals but it should lessen the harsh ones. I have been using a water jug (with chargeable filters) for some years and it always shocks me how much residue the old filters trap when I change them. It could be the pipes though idk..

Yes, good tasting water has minerals in it, so you don’t really want to remove everything. Also, drinking RO or distilled water in long term is going to leach minerals out of your system, which is not good.
