Is Opposition Coalition even possible in Singapore?

You look at how the Malaysian opposition is able to form a relatively united opposition front led by Anwar to challenge the incumbent BN but DAP is the biggest winner in this GE13 campaign and they have outshined the others in the coalition. The hard truth is that they are able even able to form a coalition.

Over here, we have one pathetic coalition SDA led by Desmond Lim who lacks the charisma and unable to gather even 1,000 votes in the Punggol East campaign.The other charismatic leaders such as Vincent Wijeysingha are seen as too liberal to be accepted by most Singaporeans. The other western educated flop is Kenneth Jeyaretnam who is unable to string a sentence of singlish is popularly known to be a very petty and spiteful man. Tan Jee Say thinks he is another LKY who is able to command people with his fiery speech. But most of TJS speeches centers around himself. Low Thia Khiang understands the job of a politician is to win seats which he has done very well. WP doesn't need SDP or RP or TJS or any parties.

Many Singaporeans always dream of Opposition Unity but that remains a dream - we have SDP who wants to turn Singapore into a mini-USA, we have a petty Kenneth Jeyaretnam who is vindictive and pissed off many former RP members, we have TJS who wants to turn Singapore into his mini-kingdom. We have NSP which has mini Malay, Tamil, Hokkien Teochew Bureaus which end up alienating other races.One of the NSP Malay Bureau fellows had petty crime records,was I mistaken?

Are these opposition member even talking to one another?

Maybe,Opposition Coalition is only possible when Goh Meng Seng finally decide which party is big enough for him and his ideas.

Nothing is impossible. An opposition coalition is possible in the future if certain conditions are met, but as of now I see neither a need or a possibility of a coalition forming at least for the next GE. I'm sure the various opposition parties will meet up and try to minimize 3 corner fights, and maybe agree not to criticize each other, but that will probably be as far as they will cooperate.

Will it be possible for an opposition coalition to form for GE 2021? Maybe, if other parties can win a significant number of seats (say, at least a GRC) at GE2016, and there is a unifying figure respected by the coalition members to lead the coalition.

That is not exactly possible in mudland, cos the pakatan is made up of dap (which is a urine dominated party) and anwar's party which is quite secular compared to the pas m&ds who want to intro hudud laws.
and each have almost equal power, there is no one dominant person or party.

It might be possible if 2 or 3 of the Oppo are starting to win seats and pushing very strongly to take over the 2/3 majority seats by forming a coalition.

People in Singapore should not develop a large gap for the harmony of One united People having been developed from excruciating efforts together over the years. not possible lah. only in your wildest fantasy that a oppo coalition can be formed. Everyone has different political ideals. NSP is the worst of the lot - trying to pacify to the difference races with their individual bureaus. NSP is so small and they split by dividing into smaller bureau?

Imagine the Malay bureau only keen in Malay supremancy, Indian Bureau in Indian pride. Then end up the Malays going Malaysia join in the Malaysian GE13 rallies? They only feel more at home there lah.
