I am surprised that you think the pap conceded defeat on Nomination Day. The PAP was vigorously campaigning for Aljunied during the Campaign period and certainly didnt show that they had conceded defeat. In fact GY promised to lead change from within. Was that a sign of defeat concession? I think not!

I spoke to LKY at the same nomination centre. His said never mind losing a GRC when the WP Aljunied team from another nomination centre was announced live on TV. I took it as conceding defeat, wouldn't you? From the mouth of LKY himself. Uncle Yap was there too. But he chickened out, dared not talk to LKY, just spying and fooling around.

Incredibly beyond my expectation, LKY actually said the same thing to the media too a couple of days later, well before polling day. You go figure.

Surveys are not rocket science. They only give an indication of the expected outcome. For GE 2011, the pap knew they had a tough fight at Aljunied. But I dont think they expect to lose 45% to 55%. It was a humiliation they didnt expect

Surveys are only useful when the questions are rightly formulated and the sample size are large enough and the sampled population well spread out.

The pap is known to skew the sample population and sample variety to engineer the survey outcome to want to see. Self deception!! The result is the pap was shocked by the peoples' anger against the PAP..they said it caught them by surprise. It was because they have been living in self delusion and self deception. If they dont wake up, GE 2016 will be a greater shock

I would love to have a conversation with Lee Senior before he kicks the bucket. I have never even seen Lee Senior in person despite living near Oxley Road throughout my life.

Maybe the sampling groups are those from the grassroots organisation, namely CCCs, RCs, and etc. This could explain why the reaction on the ground caught the people in PAP by surprise despite getting favourable finding from their "survey".

Possibly... the PAP was indeed caught by surprise this year. If their survey was carried out well, this wont have happened

Nothing's incredible when it's real. Lily Neo was there too and I enjoyed chatting with her. LKY was just courtesy sideline chat, give him face. All of us were locked inside the the nomination centre for more than three hours, that's procedural. What the hell else had we got to do beside chatting each other up. We're all humans after all, including LKY. He's not god. He's just a tough old man, that I'd give it to him anytime.
