Is LHL Serious about Re-taking Aljunied GRC?

Don't think that WP will just be LTK, SL, CSM, PS and GG in 2016. If they gain a few more candidates, a multiple GRC approach is possible.

My view is that WP can quite easily put up three very strong teams for GE 2016. They will pose serious challenges to the PAP. and with the other Opposition Parties putting up at least one strong team each, the pap will be stretched very thin. That's good for Singapore

I agree with you. That's PAP's greatest fear..a multi-GRC attack with one or two prominent WP MPs leading the contest in each GRC and backed by other capable candidates. From GE 2011, the pap has shown that it is not able to attract good candidates. If this trend continues, the pap will be in trouble

PAP further has to contest with the following issues come GE 2016:
1) Deteriorating world economy
2) Changing demography
3) Proliferation of New Media
4) Break in the pipeline from SAF and the Civil Service for new candidates
5) Issues with a new road tariffing system (GPS) replacing ERP
6) Housing pricing only stabilized but not resolved.

Well said and nicely put.

Very true. The pap thinks that the SEA games in 2015 may help to glorify the pap like how it thought the YOG could help the pap in GE 2011. How wrong the pap was.

I think the pap has miscalculated big time and will be in for a more nasty shock in GE 2016

lets stop wanking ourself....

Deteriorating world economy is goot for PAP cause we scare for our livihood...
Changing demography = more new Citizens...

aljunied is not safe...those of you who think otherwise, i suggest you go volunteer WP... and stop the online mutual wanking....taking things for granted...

Relax...:-) time will tell whose opinion is correct. I see the pap doing crisis managing

I agree with you that one man is running Singapore. But who allows it? LHL is the PM..and according to our Constitution, he is the boss. If he cant be the boss, he is at fault. so if another, instead of him who is running Singapore, it's still the PM's fault for allowing it because he is a weak PM

LHL has no choice. That one man is simply too powerful for anyone to try disobeying him. I am not defending LHL but just highlighting what the actual situation is. Whoever dares defy him, offspring or not, will simply be obliterated. This is the result of allowing power to be concentrated in one single man for more than 50 years. Whatever title this man holds, in or out of cabinet, the power he wields is absolute. He can be given the title of a toilet attendant of parliament, but he would be pulling the strings from a toilet cubicle.

that awesome man should then be the PM. any PM who cant control his men, shdnt be PM

Is GMS 'strong' in your opinion?

How many more years can LKY last? If he dies before the next GE, can LHL last without his father holding his hand?

No one knows how long he will last. But be it 1 year or 10 years, he already said as long as he's alive even if he is walking wobbly or not able to stand steadily, he would continue to contribute. This was first said through his daughter and a few days later, he came out to say it on his own outrightly. What he meant by continuing to contribute is simply that he will continue to run things. . The man simply won't let go. That's the sad state of affairs Singapore is faced with. When he goes eventually, all the clowns in PAP won't know what to do, simply because they had never made any decisions on their own before. Everything has been decided for them these past 50 years by one man. They only need to obey his instructions and execute them.

Yes, that's Singapore's tragedy for allowing one man to dictate his terms. No one man is greater than the country

LTK went for all or nothing in GE 2011. He is already 55 and will be 60years old in 2016. My assessment is that he may leave Aljunied and lead WP's challenge in another GRC in 2016. That would be great for Singapore

Sumiko, you will be pleasantly surprised (or shocked, depending which side you bat for) at the number of truly excellent people that has drawn to WP post-GE 2011.

It's good to know that WP is able to attract good and credible people. To any decent Singaporean, the pap name has been tarnished the last few years. It is likely to get worse for the pap in the next few years
