Is it just me and is wolfgang petersen's das boot ultra boring?

Knn after an hour into the movie i just wish the german sub would sink and be done with, keep seeing officers eating and talking, the men running to and fro inside the sub or depth charges dropped by some destroyer here and there and boom boom boom
